Pastor Darius Stanley Obituary

Darius Stanley, 50 of Dayton Ohio, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on April 11, 2024. Darius was born January 5, 1974 to the late Elder Wade Hampton Stanley and Jacquelyn Stanley in Cincinnati, Ohio. Darius was an exceptionally smart, rambunctious child who had a love and faith for God at a very young age. Darius was called to preach at the age of 11 and he received the Holy Ghost when he was 14 years old. He attended and graduated from Copiague High School in Copiague New York in 1993 where he was a local football star. Darius worked as a Journey-Man Electrician for over 20 years, a trade which he learned from his father. He met and married his wife Juerita in 1996 and in 1999 they welcomed their daughter Veronica into the world, which was Darius's little sidekick and his heart.

Darius started preaching in 1996 under the leadership of his pastor/father where he was ordained in 2002 at the House of Prayer, Love, and Restoration in Richmond, Indiana. He later served on the ministerial staff and was the choir director and minister at Living Faith Church of God in Centerville, Indiana under Pastor Bishop Allen Henderson. In 2011, he joined and served as a minister at Mt. Zion AOH Church of God, Dayton, Ohio under the pastorship of the late International/National Presiding Prelate, Bishop John H. Mathews Jr. where he served faithfully as his armor bearer. He received his ministerial license in 2015 from the Apostolic Overcoming Holy Church Incorporated. In 2018, he was ordained as an elder. He was installed as the Pastor of Mt. Zion AOH Church of God, Inc. on October 20, 2018 by the International/ National Presiding Prelate, Bishop Lawrence Williams where he served faithfully until he departed this life.

Darius had a genuine, heartfelt love for his congregation and he wanted everyone to feel like they were a part of the family. He was a charismatic man with a smile that lit up every room that he'd enter. He never met a stranger and he was always willing to lend an ear or a helping hand to anyone that needed a friend. He left a positive impact on everyone that he came into contact with. His joking manner, sense of humor, quick wit, laugh and vibrant smile is going to be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He was a true man of God with a heart of gold. He is preceded in death by his Father Wade Hampton Stanley and his Brother Lil Wade Hampton Stanley Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 27 years Juerita Stanley of Dayton, Ohio, Daughter Veronica Stanley of Dayton, Ohio, Mother Jacquelyn Stanley of Richmond, Indiana, Brother Jermayne (Katie) Stanley of Richmond, Indiana, Sister Melinda Stanley of Vandalia Ohio, Valecia Stanley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Tralaina Stanley of Richmond, Indiana and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
