Mr. Harold Francis Hodge was born on March 29, 1937, in Owingsville, Kentucky to Ewell and Rena Hodge.
Mr. Hodge retired from the City of Dayton after 37 ½ years of service. A devoted member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church where over the years he served in a number of auxiliaries. Mr. Hodge was a people person. He loved his family, he loved his church, and he loved his State of Kentucky. In fact, anyone from the State of Kentucky was family to him.
Mr. Hodge developed a passion in his senior years of life for drawing and painting and looked forward to Fridays to attend his “Art from the Heart “ Class. He was really proud to be able to display some of his art in various Art Shows throughout the City of Dayton. He also enjoyed traveling and cruising with family and friends.
Mr. Hodge used to make his own cufflinks and did know how to “Dress to impress” when the occasion presented itself. In fact, over the years he participated as a model in various fashion shows throughout the City.
And-----------------By the way, he knew how to put together a mean corn pudding!
On Friday, March 29, 2024, Mr. Hodge answered God’s call and transitioned from this life to his heavenly home.
Mr. Hodge was preceded in death by his parents, Ewell and Rena Hodge, sons: Tim and Terry; brothers: Owen Doyle, Al Razor, Bobby Hodge; sisters: Anna Russell, Melinda Tooson, Delsia Hodge, Virginia Young.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 24 years, Vanessa; daughters: Glenda of Hampton, GA, Dana Williams of Dayton; sons: Stevie of Owingsville, KY, John (Lisa) Jackson of East Point, MI; 2 loving and caring stepchildren: Andray (Maisha) Stroud and Vanesha (Dwight) Ledgister of Houston, TX; 3 loving sisters-in-law: Charlene Razor and Wanda Hall of Dayton and Mae Hodge of Louisville, KY. A host of grand and great-grandchildren, and other loved ones including nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends in his “Art from the Heart” Class at Northwest Recreation Center and his Bingo Buddies at Carroll High School Bingo.
