LEAK, Julia  -
LEAK, Julia, age 78, passed away peacefully early Thursday, August 31, 2017, at her home in Dayton, Ohio. She was born August 20, 1939, in Gaffney, South Carolina, to James “Sonny” and Mattie (Wilkins) Crosby. She was a 1958 graduate of Dunbar High School in Lexington, North Carolina. She married the love of her life, John David Leak on May 13, 1961. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Dayton, Ohio. In 1969, Julia started her career at the United States Postal Service as a clerk working on the LSM. She served for 23 years and retired in 1992, displaying a wonderful work ethic unlike no other! Made very few mistakes completing her task daily, getting the mail out on time! Julia truly lived a Saved, Sanctified, filled with the Holy Ghost life, as she was “The Very Essence” of a Godly woman! She loved and had an infectious smile and everyone loved her!! She had a humble and shy personality. However, when she led a song with the choir or just singing a solo, God usually showed up and blessed the masses! She is survived by her husband, John; a sister, Elizabeth (Leamon) Long, three sons, Jerrald (Lola), Iran, and Keith; two daughters, Glenda (Chester) and Katrina. Many grand and great grand kids, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family, friends, and others whose lives Julia touched are invited to Mt. Olivet Church of God in Christ, 920 S. Euclid Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45417, on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Viewing, 11:00am to 12:00pm, to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat. With the funeral service commencing at 12:00pm. Interment West Memory Gardens.
